The Long Awaited Update - Singfest

SINGFEST 08 is F-U-C-K-I-N-G AWESOME. As awesome as you think it could be. IT WAS A TOTAL BLAST! I had so so so so much fun there ;D

I was an hour late meeting my cousin at Dhouby Ghuat. I'm truly sorry cousin! Headed our way to Fort Canning Park. The gates to the festival only opens at 2pm and it was only 1pm when we joined in the queue. Sat down comfortably and waited patiently. We were fortunate to be under a shady area. But still, the weather is atrocious.

My cousin's friends joined soon after. Entered the venue at 2pm. The local bands are already jamming on the stage. But sadly, hardly anyone was watching. Most of the peeps including us were waiting right at the door for the main stage to be opened. We were just like the sardines in the can, being packed closely together. Obviously, the weather was fuming hot. But again, we were under the shade but still the heat was unbearable.

And finally, the doors opened at 3.30pm! Calculated how long I have withstand the heat? And then we entered the place where the main stage is. My cousin's friend was fast! At a glance, she's nowhere to be seen and then found her at some shady area laying down mats. We didn't went to the front tho we are able too. We were rather up at the back. Nevertheless, the view was still ok.

First up was Stacie Orrico! Sing sang sung. Basically, I only know two song of hers :/ Not to mention, her voice was good but her live not that entertaining. But still I still managed to groove to the music a little :D

Next up was Jamie Scott! He's a cutie for sure! Practically, he's songs are nice especially, 'When Will I See Your Face Again'. His vocals was sexyy! He can't stand Singapore's weather coz back in his own country, British, the weather was chilly unlike Singapore. So upon hearing Jamie Scott was hot, the horny fans out there was asking him to strip. He replied by saying 'Nahs, if i stripped, I would probably get sunburns'.

Followed up was One Republic! More people were streaming in for their gig. And so, they blocked my view tentatively. Of coz, I left my spot, went forward, and place myself comfortably to catch them live :DD

Up next was PANIC AT THE DISCO! My addiction during secondary. Thus the link of my blog, panic-is-love.blogspot.com. I still adore them up till now :D
After they sang the first song, the mic blew up and we couldnt hear the lead singer, Brendon Urie sing the 2nd song. The interesting part was, I thought Brendan was aware of the technical problems as he was still vigorous in his singing and that i doubt he actually cared. He was SHOWmanship dood!

However later on, i realised that after the second song, he REALISED that the mic wasnt working. Becoz we the audieuce was making noises, showing hand signs by raising up both of the hands, shaking the wrist right to left. HAHA. It was quite amazing to see when everyone does that. So actually he WASNT AWARE that their mic crashed!!!

They had put up a fantastic live!!! They sure knew how to entertain their audience.

The geek spects he's wearing is from my friend XY! She threw it on the stage. And bden wore it ;D

Next next next was Mr, A-Z, JASON MRAZ! I swear, his live was the BEST. Not being bias, but that's the truth! His live was beyond words! Apparently, when it was his set, the whole of us went forward to see. So now, we were rather near the stage. I was all high when he started his set! He really won the crowd over with his performance! He did some cute little actions which melted everyone heart. HA. He danced a little too ;D


Nearing to his end of performance, he took out his polaroid cam and started taking pictures of his band and himself, and he threw it to the crowd. TOO BAD SO SAD, i didnt manage to get it. Only for his set, everyone was shouting ENCORE ENCORE & WE WANT MORE WE WANT MORE.

He's a compelling and inventive live performer, well known for ad-libbing and improvising clever lines in his songs when he performs. He's a real talent ok! He's freestyling is A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
He had truly engage us into his live. He rock the house down. Needless to say, his vocals was superb. Indeed my idol ah!

The rest of the night was Rick Astley, Pussycat Dolls and Alicia Keys. Surprisely I got entertain by Rick! HAhaa. He's very sporting! He tunes was catchy too! Within few seconds, I could easily sing the chorus ;P
